Today’s tl;dr
🌦️ Partly cloudy, chance of scattered showers/storms. High near 90.
Forecast highlights
⚡ Spotty storms return
It looks to me like the rain over the next few days will be a case of the haves and have-nots. I don’t have a lot of confidence in a large, organized batch of storminess coming through. Rather, it seems like we’ll see blobs of stuff pop up, each probably affecting only a part of the metro. I wouldn’t be surprised if we end up with some sizeable differences in rainfall totals.
If you’re under the core of one of them, I still expect you’ll get a pretty good downpour and brief gusty winds. And if you aren’t in the right spot, cross your fingers you’ll have your shot next time.
While there’s a low-end chance of rain throughout today and tomorrow, the afternoon and evening should be a bit more active thanks to the heating of the day.
Sunday’s rain chance is still questionable. I think southern Ohio is definitely favored compared to here… I won’t rule out lingering showers or storms scattered about, but I believe the likelihood is lower than today and tomorrow.
🌡️ 6 more days of warm, muggy weather
The countdown is on… all signs continue pointing to a pattern change starting next Thursday. Dew points will be in the 70s each day until then, so it’ll be the “air you can wear” for a while yet.
Notice what happens at the end of that dew point animation above. Sweet relief from the humid weather. And it will last more than a couple of days!
Anyway, just how warm we get the next couple of days will depend on storm timing and location — if one passes over you in the afternoon, you’ll enjoy at least a temporary drop in temperatures, although the humidity won’t improve.
In general, I’m planning on highs in the upper 80s to perhaps lower 90s through Wednesday.
