A year ago today, Columbus set a record high of 97. We were in the back half of a seven-day stretch in the 90s, which peaked at 98 on the 30th — a couple ticks below the record of 100.

Today’s tl;dr
🌦️ Sunny start, then increasing clouds and maybe an isolated shower. High in the lower to middle 70s.
Forecast highlights
🤏 Slim chance of a passing shower
Will we see raindrops later today for the first time in over a week?
Eh. Possibly. But even if we do, it won’t do much other than wet the sidewalk, at most.
Here’s the forecast radar from one of the high-resolution models:
It looks more robust than it actually will be, but you get the gist. There ought to be spotty showers as moisture pools ahead of the cold front, but things look better in northern Ohio in that regard compared to here. With showers running into relatively drier air, they’ll fade somewhat.
Really, if we get rain, the only meaningful outcome will be that it’ll be a number other than zero in the officially climate report (and that’s only if a shower happens at the airport). It certainly won’t green up any grass or give your garden a decent drink.
⬇️ Staying cooler than average
Highs remain in the lower to middle 70s the rest of the week before climbing back to around 80 early next week.
But with another possible downturn in temperatures in the latter half of next week, the temperature outlook leans toward next week being overall cooler than average yet again.
