Forecast highlights

😩 Turning soggy and cool

Today won’t be too bad, although we won’t have bright skies throughout the day like yesterday. Clouds will gradually thicken through the day ahead of our next weather system. Showers should generally hold off until late afternoon at the earliest, with the bulk of the rain probably arriving toward or after sunset.

And that rain will continue on through tonight and Thursday. I still expect some rain to be around for those who are trick-or-treating tomorrow night. It might be getting lighter during that time, but be ready for it to be wet. And if things are wrapping up by then… I’ll be glad my timing was off.

Also plan on both of commutes tomorrow to be wet. And as we know, a wet commute is a slow one.

No dinosaurs to worry about, though. (Giphy)

We’re still on track to get somewhere in the neighborhood of an inch, give or take.

Today will also be noticeably cooler than yesterday, especially because it’ll be cloudier. Mid-50s ain’t bad, but whoooo boy tomorrow’s going to be a raw one. We’ll spend most of the day in the 40s, and the wind will make it feel even chillier.

Temperatures rebound slightly on Friday, since we’ll be dry for most of the day (if not all, depending on where spotty showers develop) and should get a few peeks of sun poking through the clouds.

📱 Beware of fake info from Jamaica

This section’s a little different today… more of a brief PSA.

As AI tools get better and better at creating believable images and video, you probably won’t be surprised to learn that people are making fake content related to Hurricane Melissa.

I hate that I have to say this, but if you see something on social media about the storm, be very suspicious about its authenticity unless it’s coming from a known, trustworthy source. And also remember that conditions in some of the most impacted areas may not be fully realized for days or even weeks.

Here are two Jamaica news sources:
